HENRY C. McALISTER, 97, Lafontaine, Ind. and Huntington, passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 21, 2012, at Visiting Nurse & Hospice Home, Fort Wayne. Born Dec. 3, 1914, in Jones town, Miss., he was the son of the late Rafe and Mattie Washington McAlister. He worked for the U.S. Civil Service (Electronics), retiring after 30 years of service in 1974. He was a Staff Sargent Tec 32 in the United States Army during World War II. He was a member of Banquo Christian Church; and a member of the Boy Scouts of America for over 25 years. He was also a member of C.A.C. (AAA) Division for 4 1/2 years, Huntington Amateurs Radio Club; the Military Affiliate Radio Systems, and a life member of the V.F.W. Post 2689 Huntington. Funeral service is 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 24, 2012, at McElhaney- Hart Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson St., Huntington, with calling from 9 to 11 a.m. Military gravside service is 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 24, 2012, at Marion National Cemetery, 1700 E. 38th St., Marion, IN 46952.
